2 issues to bring up today but by no means meant to critisize anyone. just a thought..

1) Taxi drivers should really stop bragging... i've encountered countless taxi drivers who brag non-stop bout how "luxurious" life is for them or how smart their family members are. today, i bumped into one. she was bragging non-stop bout his niece whoose family migrated to Australia. he was all like "i brought my whole family to Australia this June to visit them" and was like "my niece is very smart. she got all above excellent results" blah blah.. then suddenly jumps into how she has driving licence.. "she can go to any uni she wants. any faculty"...he kept asking me bout where im studying and even told me his opinion on SIM students. like how we're nothing compared to NUS and NTU. like.. i don't already know.
then he went on to ask me bout which jc i was from. and went on "my daughter is now in jc." then i was like "oh yea? which jc?".. then he stumbled "oh actually, she is in religious school. at a level standard. but ah. at o level, she had to juggle 17 subjects and still did very well." OMG! stop it already..
and all these while, i just listened. i never mentioned anything bout me. coz i didnt see the need to prove anything to him. so he was all like "i don't like singapore. i've been to europe, US, australia".. omg! did i ask? i've been there too hello? but i don't need to tell strangers that.

the weirdest thing was that (not to stereotype), he's a taxi driver.. i never knew they earned so much. then again, even if they did.. they should really stop bragging coz i feel like they have nothing to brag. empty vessels make the most noise...

i feel like it's the insecurity that causes people to brag.. coz as a taxi driver, society (inclucing me ) looks at them as "not so well off".. so they have to tell passengers bout how their life is outside their job to say "hey! i may be a taxi driver but i have a good life".. it's really sad... maybe they should just drive... and not talk..

and there was this other driver saying bout how going to school is a waste of time... "it's just about a piece of paper"... but hello!? look at what ur doing now.. if only u went to school. he was all like "if i was given a high post job, i can do it better than anyone who actually went to school" but! think bout it, would u even be employed in the first place? no! so omg! just shut up!

2) there was this random guy who chat me up. he was like "u malay?" and i was all like "i'm mixed of malay and chinese".. i really cannot be bothered to answer the "omg. u look so chinese ah".. so i was just like "yup. im mixed.".. then he went on asking bout leo. so i just said la "leo's indon/taiwanese/jap".. then he was like "oh. so overall u both still muslim la?"
tat is by far, the most ignorant comment i have ever heard! ok so i did say i'm of malay heritage so 99% makes me definitely a muslim right? then i was like saying "so ur saying just because i'm muslim, my bf has to be muslim? haven u heard of inter-racial relationship?" he went on " but eventually, he also will be muslim".. omg! he's talking about eventuality! he said "i think long way" (in exact words, to show his standard).he went on "coz all who want to marry muslim must be muslim right?" then im like "yea.. but ur asking bout now. now, he isn't muslim."

thing is.... he asked me bout RACE.. but it ended up with RELIGION. it's obvious he doesn't know the difference. and his assumptions r so ridiculous..

then he went on to say the weirdest thing which contradicted himself ."so Buddhism came form India so why some Chinese also Buddhist?" omg! precisely what i'm saying! even Chinese can be Buddhist not only Indians. and not all Indians are Buddhist. just like how some Malays r not Muslims. (not common but happens).. RACE and RELIGION r totally different... why r people so ignorant?? and he's like 22! shit!!! so shallow!

DISCLAIMER: this entry is by no means an attack on anyone. it's just something which got to me.. something which i think most of u agree with.. so please comment.and even if ur unhappy with it, make negative comments.. but i won't bother entertaining coz i won't see the need to defend myself. this is my view.. take it or literally, leave it..
